Bi-wiring
|
- Bi-wiring is a wiring configuration that separates the high-frequency and low-frequency signal currents into separate speaker cables from amplifier to loudspeakers. This is thought to improve signal quality by providing separate paths for the respective signals and avoiding the degradation which may result due to the interaction of the signal currents interacting on the same cable in a conventional wiring scheme. In order to bi-wire you require loudspeakers which have terminals for the high-frequency signal as well as terminals for the low frequency signal. Also see bi-amping.
